A cork ceiling finish is produced using virgin cork, which is the bark of a cork oak tree. The cork bark is ground into small granules and baked in molds at varying temperatures allowing shade variations from light to dark in the finished tile product. Once baked, 12" x 12" tiles are cut 1/4" thick, sanded, and finished with a natural wax or polyurethane. Assumes intricate ceiling configurations typical of high value homes such as skylights, cathedral, coffered, and domed ceilings.
