A thin, high-quality, flat piece of fired clay or imported glazed porcelain tile that is applied over wood joists and sheathing, or a concrete slab with cement or other adhesive and grouted joints. Normally used for its durability, easiness to clean, and relatively waterproof finish. Ceramic tile comes in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and finishes. Assumes custom patterns and finishes as well as an intricate floor plan typical of high value homes.
