Engineered Wood Flooring

Tongue and groove style interlocking flooring system that is nailed-down, glued-down, or that floats over the existing subfloor. The flooring is manufactured in planks that consist of a core of hardwood, plywood, or high density fiberboard (HDF) and a top layer of softwood or hardwood veneer layer bonded to the core with glue or adhesive. Engineered wood flooring has the natural characteristics of the surface wood species as opposed to a wear-resistant decorative surface made of resin-based melamine common with laminate wood flooring. A premium grade engineered wood flooring has been used. Assumes custom patterns and finishes as well as an intricate floor plan typical of high value homes.

Note: Engineered wood flooring is made with a wear layer of natural wood, which allows engineered wood floors to be sanded from 1 to 3 times depending on the thickness, which is different from laminate wood flooring.
