Tile, Travertine

Travertine is a dense, porous sedimentary rock that consists largely of carbonate minerals such as calcite and aragonite. Travertine is mined and made into building materials, such as floor tiles. Travertine tiles are applied over wood joists and sheathing or a concrete slab with an adhesive, with grouted joints between the tiles. Travertine tile comes in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and finishes. Cost represents an average of these styles.

Included in Cost: Travertine tile, adhesive (thin set or mud set), grout, and installation labor.
