Elaborate

elaborate roof

An elaborate roof is one that does not fall into a typical style, such as a gable or hip roof. It can be a combination of different roof styles, which would create peaks and valleys. It can also indicate an excessive number of dormers built into a standard roof style.

Note: Whenever a roofline changes direction, it requires more labor and materials and this adjustment is a way of accounting for the additional cost of construction.
